German Sun Shading System Company to Take its Hungarian Operation to the Next Level

2024. 05. 08.

German-owned family business, Warema Sun Shading Systems Hungary Kft. has inaugurated its latest investment at its site in Pécs. The project in value of around EUR 8 million covered the erection of a powder coating plant and the installation of technological equipment needed for manufacturing. Thanks to the development the headcount is to surge to 116 by the end of 2025.

Since its foundation in 1955, the Warema Group has been involved in the production of interior and exterior blinds and related control systems, as well as the design and making of plastic components for automotive, medical and shading systems.

In order to increase production capacity and to meet growing market demand, Warema established a subsidiary in Pécs in 2018 to manufacture external sunshades.

Warema has just completed a significant capacity expansion at the Pécs site with an investment of some EUR 8 million. The funds were used to purchase land, build a hall and buy machinery for the production of sun shading products.

On the one hand, a powder coating hall has been completed and the technological equipment for the production of powder coated products has been installed. In addition, the necessary technology was installed in the production hall rented by Warema, so that the production of replacement textiles and awnings could begin.

Thanks to the development the headcount is to surge to 116 by the end of 2025.

In addition to Pécs, the German company has manufacturing operations in Gyál and Nagykanizsa in Hungary and nine sites worldwide in total.
